Intelligent material supply with simple parametrisation
The smart solution for managing material flows: When using electronic Release Unit DIN/DOUT 24V, you can stop, separate and release containers and other small load carriers (SLCs) on roller conveyors with precision. That means you can create automated conveyor lines that incorporate the selective release of containers or smart interaction with SLC lifts. It also enables you to put in place efficient material flows, for instance with mobile and stationary robots.
You parametrise the Release Unit via an intuitive web interface with a WLAN-capable end device. The compact casing incorporates three practical functions:
- An electrically operated bar
- Sensor technology
- Logic processing
The bar has a dual function – holding SLCs with a stacking edge where they are and releasing them for onward travel. The integrated control logic takes care of release and separation processes autonomously. An integrated optical sensor monitors the passing of materials and registers whether the release process has been executed correctly. If an error occurs, the Release Unit brings the process to a halt, which improves process reliability.

Each Release Unit can act independently or as part of a chain. Up to three of the devices can be chained in order to implement automated separation processes with integrated backpressure reduction. There’s no need for an external control system, but there is the option to use one, if desired.
Clean and reliable material transfer for cleanrooms
Material supply plays a crucial role in clean production, too. A material airlock is a link between a cleanroom and the surrounding area and ensures products and consumables can be safely passed from one to the other. It provides a means of transferring materials quickly and with minimal pressure loss between the overpressure environment of the cleanroom and the outside world.
Our new Material Airlock X 8 makes it especially easy to create custom designs. Using a configurable assembly in the item Online Shop, you can specify all relevant parameters, such as the height, width and depth of the opening, which side of a door hinges are fitted to, and the positioning of grooves for connections.
Material Airlock X 8 is supplied ready for installation, which makes the process of fitting it exceptionally easy.
After that, the assembly automatically calculates the dimensions of all components and pulls together the materials that are needed. Material Airlock X 8 is supplied ready for installation and is therefore exceptionally easy to fit.
At the heart of this application is Material Airlock X 8, Locking Mechanism. This ingenious solution ensures that only one door of the material airlock can be open at any one time. Intuitive to use, it doesn’t require any wiring and prevents incorrect use. The two locking elements are connected by a Tube D6.3. When using the configurable assembly for design and planning, all additional components are added automatically.
What are the benefits of configurable assemblies from item?
Configurable assemblies from item do much more than formula-based configurators. They incorporate a complete set of rules that factors in product characteristics and interdependencies between components. Like an experienced engineer, a configurable assembly understands the capabilities and internal interplay of a functional group down to the very last detail.

- Accelerated planning, thanks to immediate results, direct price indications and 3D representations. You can order most assemblies preassembled.

The fast and simple solution for connecting crossing profiles
Transverse-Fastening Sets 8 from item hold in place Line 8 profiles that cross each other at a 90° angle and they don’t require any machining. The special fastener attaches to Line 8 grooves on the two profiles to create a doubly torsion-resistant connection. You can choose which profile grooves to use by selecting either the right or left version.
Transverse Fasteners 8 from item make it easier to position both profiles precisely. Simply loosen one screw to align one profile while leaving the other firmly connected. The fasteners also keep the two profiles apart so they don’t come into contact with each other while being adjusted and therefore won’t get scratched.
Transverse Fasteners 8 with clamp levers are perfect for assembling grippers on robot arms fast and adjusting them without causing wear.
Variants of the Transverse-Fastening Sets with clamp levers (right and left) allow users to adjust the struts in frames without having to use tools. This makes them ideal for applications where adjustments need to be made on a frequent basis, such as for end-of-arm tooling (EOAT). The fasteners enable you to fit fixtures such as grippers to robot arms quickly and adjust them without causing wear.
Making drawer units and racks even safer
Reduce the risk of tipping due to leverage effects and boost health and safety at work by installing our new interlocking solution on drawer units and racks with pull-out trays. As soon as one telescopic rail is pulled out, the mechanism automatically locks all the rest of the pull-outs shut. Naturally, you won’t lose any of the advantages that come with freely customisable solutions based on the item Drawer System.
The item interlock system is based on a Guide Bar that connects together multiple Locking Sets. This Guide Bar sits safely protected in a free vertical Line 8 groove on the profile frame. Because you arrange locking clips on the bar to match the heights of your drawers, you can secure drawers in all sizes and custom combinations.

The locking element is fastened to the Line 5 groove on a Frame Profile from the Drawer System. When working with trays or drawers that have a Line 8 groove, you will need to use Telescopic Rail Interlock Fastening Set 8. Interlock Locking Set 8 is suitable for use with soft-close telescopic rails from item.
